The postman's been

Look what came in the mail last night.
I was alerted to the fact that Spencer Lacy were having a sale. I've admired their collections from afar and now there's some substantial reductions. I just couldn't resist. Too good for sleepwear, I plan to wear the black top, which is silk and quite voluminous, with a belt to cinch the waist. And the cami, I think it will work under a grey cardigan. I just loved the pattern of the leaves or tear drops as they look to me.

Suspended

I'm a sucker for typography. Stumbled across this while walking through the city yesterday. As you approach it from the side it's a jumble of letters. Then it all becomes clear.

Morning / night

Sunday started with Jamie Oliver's 1 cup pancakes.
• 1 cup milk • 1 cup self raising flour • 1 egg • pinch of salt
and my addition of a tsp of vanilla sugar.

Finished off with sliced banana, real maple syrup and greek yoghurt.

Sunday ended with raspberry vanilla rooibos.

Sketch Saturday

I have no doubt I'm not the only one, putting pen or pencil to paper scares the living daylights out of me. I can't begin to express why. It's time for change. Saturday will become a 'showcase' of lines (straight or otherwise) on paper. As a mini win over the fear, I do like the feel of the Staedtler fine permanent markers on smooth paper.

A stack of squares

Recently I taught myself to crochet. To say I didn't pick it up quickly is an understatement. I studied this clip many a time: Crochet Solid Granny Square. The desire do something creative was strong, but the Virgo in me needed the final product to have a purpose too. It also gives my hands something to do while watching Masterchef (I can't help it, I'm addicted). Eventually these squares will become a blanket for a chair upstairs, and I have no doubt it will make it into my sewing/drawing room on a cold day.

The beginning

And so begins the start of something new. Sure I'm late to the game, but better late than never right?
