The weekend

...has involved much time spent at Bunnings.

Aside from that excitement there's been research for a new vehicle after my car drove to it's smokey demise last weekend. A what I would call "Royal Mail moment" as I was served a cured salmon entree at Delizia Cucina that was almost too pretty to eat, with the taste living up to the visuals. And a PB for 10km with a boiled egg recovery breakfast.

Portraiture

So the whole Sketch Saturday has fallen by the wayside. I haven't touched my watercolours for months. Yes, I'm missing it, but during the week I'm hardly home. Partly because I'm doing a short course in Portrait photography. Not my forte I tells you. I did like how these low key shots turned out of a gorgeous girl in our class.

Basically it's a black background, with a continuous tungsten light source on the right.

Inspiration

The Melbourne City Library has been a recent source of inspiration for me recently. I'm looking forward to delving into the wisdom of these two books, on a subject I know nothing about!

Cable

So while I had a pattern I needed some major help to read essentially another language. All those k's, p's, sl's and *'s. I needed the help of an expert. You know, someone who's been at this a little longer than I. Poor Mum, she had no escape given she's been prescribed strict bed rest after her foot op. It took us three goes, but we got there. A wonky kind of cable, but cable nevertheless.
